Thermoplastic Polyolefin Roofing Systems (TPO)
Thermoplastic Polyolefin is a single-ply thermoplastic roofing system. The membrane is has three layers:
- A TPO polymer base
- A polyester-reinforced fabric center, known as a scrim.
- A TPO compounded top ply
TPO is a heat and UV-resistant material that is applied in large sheets and welded together at the seams. It is a popular choice for “green” buildings and helps reflect solar heat. This keeps buildings cooler which reduces utility bills. Factor in the relatively affordable cost to install and low maintenance, and TPO is a great option for your business. Here are some more advantages:
- Easy to install
- UV resistant, thus reducing heating and cooling bills
- Durable
- Environmentally friendly
- Energy efficient
- Very flexible, even at extremely low temperatures
